Two persons were arrested while trying to abduct Sabbir Hossain, an employee of BIRDEM Hospital from Shahbagh area on Saturday afternoon.
The arrestees were identified as Rajib Golder, 25 and Zahid Hossain, alias Ronti, 25, said Shahbagh police Inspector (investigation) Habil Hossain.
Police also seized the microbus, which was used in the abduction attempt. The incident took place in front of the hospital at around 3:30pm.
As Sabbir screamed for help, locals rushed the spot and nabbed the abductors. The kidnappers were later handed over to Shahbagh police station.
A case was filed with Shahbagh police station in this connection.
