KHDC distributes modern agri machinery

Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC) distributed 34 modern agricultural machinery among the members of the Farmer’s Field School. Khagrachhari Hill District Council chairman Kongjari Chowdhury handed over 18 power tillers and 16 irrigation pumps to the farmers of Sadar upazila On Tuesday noon.
These agricultural equipments have been distributed under Strengthening Inclusive Development in Chittagong Hill Tracts (SID-CHT) Project of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs.
Earlier, Kongjari Chowdhury said at the meeting held at Khagrachhari Hill District Council’s conference room, “This is a farm-friendly Government. The government has taken multi-steps to improve the quality of life of the farmers”.
He also said, “In continuation of this, these modern agricultural equipments have been distributed to make the agricultural work of the marginal farmers easier”.
Led by Chief Executive Officer of the hill district council Md. Nuruzzaman; Sadar Upazila Council Chairman Md. Shane Alam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shamsunnahar, Hill District Council Member Khageshwar Tripura, Jewel Chakma and District Manager of the Strengthening Inclusive Development in Chittagong Hill Tracts (SID-CHT) of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Priyotor Chakma were present among others in the meeting.
