UNB, Savar :
Khadiza Akhter, a student of Sylhet Government Women’s College who was undergoing treatment at Square Hospital after being hacked by a BCL leader in Sylhet, was shifted to Savar Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) hospital on Monday.
Khadiza was taken to the CRP in an ambulance around 11:20 am, 55 days after the incident.
Khadiza will remain under the care of Syed Uddin Helal, the chief of neurology department of the hospital.
Helal said, a medical team will work for her treatment in a coordinated way as Khadiza cannot move independently and her left hand has turned paralysed.
Talking to reporters at the hospital, Khadiza said she is feeling well and urged all to pray for her early recovery. Four policemen were deployed at the CRP for her security. On October 3, Khadiza Begum Nargis, 23, daughter of Masuk Miah of Biswanath upazila, was stabbed by Badrul, a BCL leader of its Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), on her way home from college following the refusal of his proposal for having an affair with him.
On October 5, Badrul Alam confessed to hacking Khadiza in his confessional statement under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPc).
