Kolkata-based folk band, Dohar, completed 20 years of their musical journey on August 7 this year. The band started its journey in 1999 when a group of young energetic people came together to present the songs of the soil of Bengal and the northeast. Their mission was to present the rustic songs of the soil to the urban and rural masses in its original form and flavour. The band is also involved in an endeavour to form an archive of this treasure chest of tunes and philosophies.
