JS body for resuming flight operation to Ishwardi

Parliamentary Standing Committee on Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry suggested for issuing directive so that Biman Bangladesh airlines could sell this year’s Hajj flight tickets only after getting full payment from travel agents to check mishandling in ticket selling.
The recommendation was made on Monday at the 36th meeting of the committee with its chairman M Faruk Khan in the chair at Jatiya Sangsad Bhabgan here.
Committee members Professor M Ali Ashraf, Tanvir Imam, M Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Quamrul Ashraf Khan and Sabiha Nahar Begum attended the meeting.
The committee recommended for taking initiatives to resume flight operation between Dhaka and Ishwardi at least 2-3 days in a week.
The committee also suggested for taking necessary steps with help of the Attorney General to resolve the legal issues in acquiring land for the country’s airports.
It also advised modernization of the ticketing and luggage handling systems of Biman, the national flag carrier, for both the international and domestic routes.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary along with other concerned high officials were also present.
