News Desk :
BNP will hold rallies in six districts on Wednesday to force the government to allow its chairperson Khaleda Zia to go abroad for advanced medical treatment.
The districts are Rajshahi, Chandpur, Rangpur, Khulna, Chattogram and Sylhet. The party will hold rallies in 39 districts from Wednesday to January 24 to press home the same demand. The government on Monday issued a notification imposing various restrictions on gathering and rallies to prevent the spread of Omicron variant of Covid-19. The restrictions will come into effect from Thursday. However, the BNP has not informed about any final decision regarding its rallies.
However, BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said their programme would continue. The rallies will be attended by central leaders. Seperate committees have been formed for all districts.
Earlier, BNP observed the programmes including formation of nationwide human-chain, observing mass hunger strike, submitting memorandum of understanding to the deputy commissioners’ offices, and holding rallies at the divisional levels as well as 32 districts of the country.
