Job opportunity for 5000 people to be created at Rajshahi BSCIC Industrial area

Job opportunity for round 5000 people is going to be created at Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) in Rajshahi. For this reason, a project namely “Rajshahi BSCIC area Expansion” has taken up by the authorities concerned.
 Meanwhile, about 50 acres of land has been acquired for the project and a total of 308 plots have been established there.
Altaf Hossain, Regional Director of BSCIC, Rajshahi said that, the project, involving at around Tk 132 crores, would be implemented by June 2017. After implementation of the project, 10 percent of plots will be preserved for female entrepreneurs and rest others will be allocated for male entrepreneurs.
Explaining the present situation, he said that, at present there is no vacant of plots in the BSCIC industrial zone. But, there has huge demand of plots. Feeling the necessity of plots, the AL led government has under taken a project to expand the industrial area on 50 acres of lands at Parila union in Poba upazila of the district.
Three categories of plots are now being established in the project. Of them, 83 plots of “A type” will be established with 6000 square foots of space, while 89 plots of “B type” will be established with 4500 square foots of space. Rest other plots of “S type” will be established by 3500 to 8000 square foots of space.
While talking, some innovative entrepreneurs in Rajshahi city said that, if the BSCIC industrial area is expanded and plots are allotted for newly entrepreneurs, they must be taken the option. They also complained that, they cannot expand their business and industry due to lack of space. But now, they are showing the ray of hope as the government has taken up a project to expand the BSCIC industrial area.
Fazle Hossain Badsha MP, also veteran leader of Workers Party said that, the present government is working for developing industries and making opportunities for youths and females. Consequently, the government has decided to sanction 10 percent of plots in BSCIC industrial area for female entrepreneurs.
Badsha further said, with the implementation of the project, the government has created opportunities of jobs for around 5000 people as well as opened the door of economic prosperities.
