‘JMC Media Buzz’ kicks off at DIU

A two-day long program titled ‘JMC Media Buzz’ organized by the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMC) has started at Daffodil International University (DIU) in Daffodil Smart City, Ashulia from Wednesday.
JMC Media Buzz started today,) morning with the inaugural discussion at the International Conference Hall of the University. Professor Dr. Md. Golam Rahman, Advisor of Daffodil International University’s Department of Journalism, Media and Communication and Editor of the Daily Ajker Patrika was present as the session chair in the inaugural discussion.
The discussion was also attended by Junilana Abdul Wahab, Associate Professor, School of Communication, University Science Malaysia, Professor Mofizur Rahman, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Dhaka University, Kazi M. Anisul Islam, Acting Chairman, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Comilla University and Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Shafiul Islam, Head, Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, Green University.
In his speech, Professor Dr. Golam Rahman said that the technological revolution has changed a lot in the world in the last few decades.
Especially in culture. The culture of journalism has changed.
Even a decade ago, there was no such thing as mobile journalism. Now journalism cannot be imagined without mobile journalism.
Professor Golam Rahman advised the students to be aware of these changes in journalism. He said, as a students of journalism you need to be up to date on all subjects. You need to be proficient in communication.
Junilana Abdul Wahab presented an article titled ‘Streaming TV and New Viewing Culture’. Professor Mofizur Rahman presented the article titled ‘Media Conversation and Culture’, Kazi M Anisul Islam presented the article titled ‘Application in Journalism: Platform or Form’ and Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Shafiul Islam presented an article titled ‘Impact of Social Media in Mainstream Journalism’.
Minister of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Mustafa Jabbar will be present through online on the second day program which will be held on tomorrow. Prominent Film Director Amitabh Reza, Mamun Abdullah, advisor editor of DainikAjkerPatrika, Syed Ishtiaq Reza, editor-in-chief of GTV, Julhaj Noor, chief planning and content editor of Ekattar TV, AbulKalam Azad, special story editor of Dhaka Tribune, RafeSadnan Adel, Head of Media and External Relations of BRAC, Digital Media Specialist Nurunnabi Chowdhury Hachib and teachers, officials and students from different faculties of the University will present on the second day program.
