JCD leaders to stage demo again

Following the recent agitations among one section of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leaders, they once again warned the party bosses to stage demonstration if their demands were not met soon. The leaders of the JCD, a student body of country’s major political party BNP, came up with the announcement after a meeting with the party’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday. They decided to stage demonstration again as the acting secretary did not respond to fulfill their demands. Their demands were- to exclude the two top leaders of the JCD’s new committee and to suspend the party’s student affairs secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie and the assistant secretary of student affairs Sultan Salahuddin Tuku from their posts. On October 14, a 201-member ‘partial’ committee of JCD was announced, dissolving the earlier one. The new committee has been formed with Rajib Ahsan as its president and Akramul Hasan as general secretary. Following forming the committee, a section deprived leaders the student body locked the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal’s central office after entering BNP`s Nayapaltan central office in the capital, demanding the cancellation of its new committee on October 18. The deprived leaders of the BNP’s student wing, led by its former Vice-president Abu Sayeed, staged a separate demonstration in front of the party’s central office at different time after the committee was formed. The agitators at that time also announced that their demonstration would be continued until forming a committee including the dedicated leaders of the old committee after abolishing the new one. At that time they chanted slogan rejecting the new committee labeling it as Tuku-Annie’s sided and sponsored and it reflects merely their decision. And later, on October 19, the leaders and activists of new Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) committee and the deprived leaders and activists of the immediate past committee locked horned into a clash in front of BNP`s Nayapaltan central office. – risingbd.com
