IU to admit 50 foreign students every year

The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia is going to admit a total of 50 foreign students every year for the first year undergraduate courses from the 2016-17 academic session, IU registrar office sources said.
The decision came from a meeting of the university central admission committee with Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur Rashid Askari in the chair.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Professor Dr M Selim Toha, Registrar (in charge) SM Abdul Latif, different faculty deans, departmental chairman, among others, were present.
According to the decision, 50 students will get chance to admit at the university. Each department out of 25, can allow only 2 foreigners for admission by fulfilling their admission conditions.
Besides, IU made a Foreign Cell to maintain and develop the communication of foreign student affairs with Professor Dr Rezaul Haque will act as the convener.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M Harun-Ur Rashid Askari said all kinds of facilities for the foreign students is available on our campus.
