Ist meeting of PSC on railway held

The first meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railway was held at CRB Bhaban with its Chairman Fazle Karim Chowdhury, MP, presiding.
The meeting was held in Chittagong against the backdrop of taking quick and spot decision based on practical experience of the committee.
Railway Minister Mujibul Hoque, MP, on Sunday visited Pahartali Railway Workshop to see for himself the refurbishment work.
The railway Minister along with the members of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railway also visited Diesel and Carriage Workshop and inspected the working environment there.
After visiting the railway workshop at city’s Pahartali this noon, the minister told journalists the development works of Bangladesh Railway were totally halted in the last tenure of BNP- led four-party alliance government.
“But the present government under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has renovated the total railway system by creating an exclusive railway ministry”, he added.
