A second half blitz saw Islamic Republic of Iran beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in an international friendly on Thursday. Team Melli continued their fine form as the victory was the second under the tutelage of Croatian head coach Dragan Skocic, having beaten Uzbekistan 2-1 last month in Tashkent. After an intense goalless first half in the Bosnian capital, Kaveh Rezaei – who plays for Belgian side Charleroi – opened the scoring just seconds into the second half with a left-footed strike from inside the box. Iran’s disciplined defence made it difficult for the European team to find an equaliser and second half substitute Mehdi Ghayedi sealed the win for the Central Asian side with a finish from a tight angle in added time.
