Int’l workshop on ‘Udder Health’ begins at CVASU

A two-day international workshop titled “Udder Health Control Programme in Developing Countries: Learning from each other and sharing global experiences” begins at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) yesterday.
Swedish government is financing the international workshop under a CVASU-run research project titled “Development of Udder Health Control Programme in Dairy Cows in Bangladesh”.
CVASU, National Veterinary Institute (NVI) of Sweden, Utrecht University of Netherland and National Institute for Agricultural Research, France are jointly arranged the workshop which began at the Conference Hall of CVASU academic building at 9am.
University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan attend ed the workshop as the chief guest while UGS member Prof Dr Akhtar Hossain, Health Coordinator of the Food and Agricultural organisation (FAO) Dr Nitish Chandra Debnath and Project Leader of NVI, Sweden Prof Dr Ylva Persson attended it as special guests.
CVASU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Goutam Buddha Das presides over the workshop duly participated by different researchers from India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Sweden, France, Netherlands, Kenya and Bangladesh. Dean of CVASU Veterinary Medicine Faculty Prof Dr Mohammad Ahsanul Hoque presented the welcome address while international project leader Prof Dr Mizanur Rahman informed different information and data on the project, a CVASU sources said.
