Industry-institute linkage can boost technical edn expansion’

Close linkage between industry and institute can be the vital means of boosting publicity, quality and expansion in technical education besides industrial development. All concerned should come forward and work together to establish cordial and close relation between the two sectors for their mutual interests.
The observation came at an awareness workshop on Industry-institute linkage held in Rajshahi. Rajshahi Mohila Polytechnic Institute (RMPI) organized the workshop in its conference hall in association with Bangladesh Skills for Employment and Productivity project, ILO. President of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Md Muniruzzaman addressed the workshop as chief guest with Omor Faruque, Principal of RMPI, in the chair.
Chief Executive Officer of Amana Group Dr Mahbubur Rahman and Principal of Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute Farid Uddin Ahmed also spoke as special guests. Md Muniruzzaman said expanded technical education could be effective means of building competent and skilled human resources and its role is very vital for taking the nation forward successfully.
Role of skilled people is also very important for earning more foreign remittance which is significant for country’s development.
Disseminating his expertise the chamber leader said more expansion of technical education among students has become an urgent need for attaining the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
There is no way but to build skilled human resources to make the country self-reliant besides economic emancipation.
In his remark, RMPI Principal Omor Faruque said the entrepreneurs should come forward towards establishing small and medium industries in the region to create employment opportunities for graduates of the technical institutions.
He also highlighted the importance of boosting relationship between the industries and the technical education institutes for the shake of diversified production and uses of agricultural products.
