The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Wednesday set September 29 to pass order whether to frame charges against Habiganj Razakar trio Mohibur Rahman alias Bara Miah, Mujibur Rahman alias Angur Miah and their cousin Abdur Razzak.
The newly reconstituted ICT set the date as prosecution and defence concluded their hearings on charge framing.
Prosecutor Sultan Mahmud Simon pleaded for framing charges against the accused, while defence counsel Md Masud Rana opposed him vehemently.
The Prosecution on May 17 submitted formal charges against the trio, bringing four charges of crimes against humanity.
The trio is accused of raising a gang of Razakars in Baniachang upazila in Habiganj and establishing a camp in the locality. They raided the houses of Freedom Fighters and pro-liberation people, carried out monstrous crimes like killing, raping, looting valuables and arson.
Mohibur, former chairman of Khagaura union parishad under Baniachong upazila of Habiganj, and Muzibur, the incumbent chairman of the same union, were arrested on February 10, 2015, soon after the tribunal issued arrest warrant against them.
Police arrested Razzak on May 19 from a remote area of Moulvibazar.
