Sujayendra Das :
Indian Parliamentary elections are on the verge of completion. It began on April 11, 2019 thereby the entire euphoric processes is terminating on May 19, 2019 with verdict being declared by Central Election Committee on May 23, 2019.
It is just the 17th Parliamentary elections taking place. The phases are on six stages with the objective to ensure total law and order along with basic decorum pertaining to the basic tenets of democracy concerned. We are all aware of that violence and bloodbath has become a common precursor in the fourfold of Indian democracy. Despite the best efforts of Indian Election commission we find that there were severe brickbats along with ransom and looting in some parts of India between different political parties. Most of the violence took place in West Bengal, UP, parts of Maharashtra, UP, Punjab etc which glaringly indicates craving for power which glaringly indicated by the political fraternities.
Apart from the violence aspect we find that money power or horse trading has started dominating the entire democratic proceedings. Common citizens are deeply aggrieved at the present fraternities ruling this vast nation which is of around 135 crores. Key beneficiaries during the past five years are the richer and landlords of India. Is it logical to ignore the other sections of Indian populace apart from richer sections of Indian populace? If anybody from both India and Bangladesh analyzes this thought of me then feelings might generate about its truth. Not only political and social situation needs deep introspection rather along with it economic aspect should be deeply looked into by the representative of the people, analytical and rational minded citizens of this vast nation. Economically we are not in a rosy situation rather with the passing away of each and every day in our lives we feel the pinch with steep rise of essential items which has impacted deep stigma upon the middle classes, poorer classes and as well as the deprived sections of Indian populace. Thus in the subsequent paragraph it is my humble task to analyze deeply about summing up of Indian Parliamentary elections of the year 2019 and also how to improve the lot of the masses.
About Indian Parliamentary elections of the year 2019:
17th Indian Parliamentary elections of the year 2019 began on April 11, 2019 and are now on the halting point on May 19, 2019 with verdict to be declared on May 23, 2019. Citizens no doubt are eager to know about the results. If we analyze the proceedings so far taken place till date is that it is a mixture of bloodbath and ransom. Even in some parts of India there are even mass murders. But why should it take place? There was a time especially during the decades from fifties to two thousand we evinced deeply there was discipline in the preliminary stage but later on it was noticed that things started taking the way for total dilapidation of Indian political and social system. Total numbers of seats in this election is 543 and the election taking place for around six weeks. There was a feeling that on account of this decision by Chief Election Commission of India violence might not take place during 2019 election but in real sense of the term we evince reverse scenarios.
In the very recent past we noticed with utter sorrow and dismay during the road show at Kolkata by BJP national president Amit Shah the way entire proceedings was full of vandals and acrimonies it gives an indication that is the Indian democracy functioning as per norms or the sanctity of it has been covered under the debris. On account of the road show by Shah nearby to Vidyasagar College located in the extreme Northern hub of the city the bust of the Great social reformer got badly dismantled which has cost deep calumny in our social and cultural heritage of Bengal. In this regard I feel that intellectuals of Dhaka University and other academic institutions will not take it in its positive stance. Not only in West Bengal even in other parts of India the scenarios are not that rosy to talk about.
From the economic aspect concerned we feel that it is not sound but to richer sections of Indian populace Indian economy stands now on a sound wicket but to the middle class, lower middle and poorer ones it is in dire strait. At present the employment scenarios are slated to be around paltry 15% to 20% which is also not at all striking to talk about. Now in India there are innumerable numbers of unemployment sprawling all around the country. The main reason behind it is that gross illiteracy. We have to generate literacy rates in India but who is going to bell the cat in this regard. Only NGO’s based in different parts of the country can hold on to the baton for an electrifying India in this regard.
How to generate development all around India?
There are various ways and means can be adopted by which we can generate development all around India. Among of all those aspects some of the common ones are stated as follow:
Arresting the massive population growth through technical means.
Emphasize upon growth of literacy rates.
Expansion of basic amenities for the poor and downtrodden sections of India as well as that of in rural belt.
Pave way for more employment opportunities.
Representatives of the people should be more proactive along with various NGOs of the country.
Summing up the above views one point strikes our mind that this election is no doubt a tough one. Apart from the richer sections common citizens are deeply aggrieved upon Indian political fraternities. Eras of H.V. Kamath, Professor Hiren Mukherjee, Professor N.G. Ranga, Dr S. Radhakrishnan, Ajoy Mukherjee, Biswanath Mukherjee, Gita Mukherjee etc are over and covered under the debris. Dedicated persons are lacking deeply lacking to do something betterment for this vast nation India.
But under exceptional circumstances there might be possibilities of development but judging by the present circumstances we find it a remote possibility to take shape. Same way Bangladesh is also fondly missing Bangabandhu, Syed Nazrul Islam, A.H.M Kamaruzzaman etc various others. Finally 135 crore populaces of this vast nation like India are anxiously waiting till May 23, 2019, the day of declaration of 17th Lok Sabha election verdict.
