Barisal Division scored 165 for 3 in 43 overs against Khulna Division in the first innings on the first day of the four-day Tier-1 match of the Walton Led TV National Cricket League at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Sunday.
Winning the toss, Barisal Division, riding on 146-run 2nd wicket partnership by Shahriar Nafees and Fazle Mahmud, piled up a moderate total despite losing the first wicket of Nuruzzaman (4) for 19 runs in 6.2 overs.
National coloured opener Shahriar Nafees remained not out on 76 runs off 111 balls featuring eleven fours while one down Fazle Mahmud contributed a polished 82 runs off 118 balls hitinng 12 fours and a six.
Mehedy Hasan grabbed one wicket without conceding any run in his two overs spell while Al Amin Hossain also took one wickets giving away 30 runs in nine overs.
In the day’s another Tier-1 match at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, Dhaka Metro scored 47 for 2 in 15 overs against Dhaka Division in the first inning one first day of the four-day affairs in rain delayed match.
One down Shadman Islam (not out 18), one down Asif Ahmed (15) and opener Shamsur Rahman (11) were the main contributors for Dhaka Metro.
Mohammad Sharif captured both wickets conceding 18 runs.
