A delegation of Indian National Defense College (INDC), led by Rear Admiral D M Sudan, on Monday called on Speaker and Chairperson of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Executive Committee Dr Shirin Sharmin Choudhury at her office.
During the meeting, the Speaker apprised the delegation of Bangladesh’s Constitution, Parliamentary System and procedures.
Shirin Sharmin said the government is working to ensure overall development by incorporating the women into the mainstream.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh has attained remarkable progress in reducing mother and child mortality rate and preventing child marriage through building awareness, she added.
The speaker opined exchange of mutual experiences would make the practice of democracy rich further.
Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Pankaj Saran and Parliament officials were present during the meeting.
