Indian national held with arms in Benapole border

Border Guard Bangladesh men on Sunday afternoon arrested an Indian national and seized three 7.65 US made pistols and 6 magazines raiding an area at Kanthalbagan frontier under Benapole port police station, said Lt Col Matiur Rahman, Director, 26 Border Guard Battalion.
The BGB official told The New Nation that tipped off the BGB men raided an area at Kanthalbagan frontier and arrested Meher, 28, Bangaon, West Bengal, India at around 4pm on Sunday. ‘He was arrested from a jute field after chasing while coming from India with the US lethal arms,’ he added.
‘After mobile tracking, the BGB men later arrested arms trader Ripon of Baro Anchra under Benapole port police station. Both the arrested were quizzing’, the BGB director said.
