India-Bangladesh Nazrul Sammilan

Under the arrangement of Agniveena, a Nazrul based cultural organisation; eight-day long India-Bangladesh Nazrul Sammilan 2017 was held last month in
different districts of West Bengal in Kolkata, India. Led by General Secretary of Nazrul Academy Mintu Rahman an eleven-member team participated in the festival. Besides Mintu Rahman, Mohammad Abdul Hannan, Golam Mosabbir, Reza Matin, Karim Shahabuddin, Tanjina Karim Shorolipi, Seheli Jahan, Md Mazharul Islam, Sampa Das, Fahmida Rahman and Salamat Hossain Chowdhury attended
the festival from Bangladesh.
Opening ceremony was held
on the premises of Kolkata University Institute, while other arrangements took place in Rabindra Bhaban at Barasat in North 24 Pargana, Rabindra Sadan in Bahrampur of Murshidabad, Rabindra-Nazrul Moncho
at Lalbagh in Murshidabad, Rabindra Bhaban in Asansole and also in Kabitirtho in Churulia. These events were taken place from first day to six days of the festival, while on seventh day the festival took place at Gandhi Bhaban on Jadavpur University campus. The last day’s event was held at Gopalpur Village Development Amphitheatre, Bashonti at Sunderbans. Later
the team returned to Kolkata. During this visit, besides
performing by members of Nazrul Academy, local artists also performed on the occasion. n
