Inclusive approach key to economic development

Speakers at a programme stressed on building an inclusive society, which can ensure balanced economic development of the country.
Bangladesh cannot go ahead if they are excluded, they said while addressing a virtual discussion at BERDO office at Mirpur in the capital on Monday.
Blind Education and Rehabilitation Development Organisation (BERDO) organized the Google Meet discussion, marking its 30th founding anniversary.
Planning Minister MA Mannan, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Managing Director of Ahsan Group Engineer Quamrul Ahsan and Director of Energypac Engineer Nurul Akter as special guests.
Director of ABC Real estate, board director of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries Sabina Alam also participated in the event, which was chaired by executive director of BERDO Saidul Huq.
In his address, MA Mannan urged all to work collectively for improving the economic condition of the PWDs.
Pledging to stand beside the PWDs, the minister said the government is working for the empowerment of the PWDs.
Saidul Huq, in his speech, said BERDO is running a number of programmes for improving the condition of the PWDs.
President of BERDO Jahangir Alam, Vice President Hosne Ara Begum, Advisor Mosharraf Majumder, Mehedi Shahin Dilder, Humayun Kabir also participated in the meeting.
