Promising all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz said, ” I felt I was in Jail.”
Bangladesh Cricket team reached New Zealand on February 24 to play a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series against the Kiwis.
After arriving in Christchurch the cricketers have been staying Shadow Bye Park Hotel. The cricketers were not allowed to leave their rooms due to coronavirus pandemic for two days. The cricketers have taken quarantine there.
Later, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Taskin Ahmed went for a walk on Friday last. Mehidy Hasan Miraz did not leave his room that day. He left his room to go out for a walk on Saturday.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz said in a video message, ” After spending three days in my room, I went out for a walk for 30 minutes. When I left my room I felt headache. But after spent in the outside I felt I was refreshed.”
Miraz said, ” When I went the outside of my hotel room, I felt well. After went out for a walk I returned to the hotel. Then I felt a fresh feelings.”
He said, ” for the first time I spent three to four days in a hotel. We talked each other using our mobile phone. It was boring early hours and it was a tough task to spend time in the room alone. I hope we shall spend our quarantine period successfully.”
After completing the mandatory 14-day quarantine period, the Bangladesh cricketers will be allowed to mix with locals and roam freely around the country.
Bangladesh will play the first ODI against New Zealand on March 20 at University of Otago in Dunedin.
The second ODI is on March 23 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch and the third ODI is at Basin Reserve in Wellington on March 26.The first and third ODI will start at 4.00am (Bangladesh Time) and the second ODI will begin at 7.00am (Bangladesh Time). The first T20I of the series will be held at Seddon Park, Hamilton on March 28 and starts at 7.00 am (Bangladesh time).
The second T20I is at McLean Park, Napier on March 30, while the third T20I is at Eden Park, Auckland on April 1. The second and third T20I start at 12.00pm (Bangladesh Time).
