Chittagong Metropolitan police in separate drives recovered 20 thousand intoxicated yaba tablets from city areas on Wednesday and rounded up two drug peddlers allegedly involved with the drug trafficking.
Chandgaon thana police sources said after searching a mini truck infront of Mohona community centre in Bakalia, recovered 15 thousand Yaba tablets.
Polilce arrested the mini-truck driver Mehedi Hasan (25) and his accomplice Md.Rubel (38). Mehedi and Rubel hail from Natore and Narayangonj district.
The mini- truck was coming from Cox’s Bazar. Police detained the mini truck (No.chatta metro 17-1284) and a case under narcotics act has been filed in the Chandgaon thana, sources said.
Meanwhile, city Detective Branch police in another raid in Naval officers Residential areas under Halishahar thana detained a private car and recovered 5 thousand pieces of yaba from the car. Police detained the car and car owner Md. Amin(37) .
Amin confessed to police that he is involved with the yaba trafficking since long and these yabas were brought from Teknaf, sources said.
A case under narcotics act under process, sources said.
