One Kamala Begum (40), mother of 2 children was killed on the spot and her husband Khaliluir Rahman Talukdar was fatally injured when a clash took place between Khalilur Rahman Talukdar and his younger brother Mantu Talukdar over the fixation of the demarcation line of 2 plots of land in the village Shanirjhar within Baharbunia Union under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district on Wednesday in the morning.
It is learnt from the locals that in the morning at about 9 am an altercation took place between Khalilur Rahman Talukdar and his brother Mantu Talukdar over the fixation of the demarcation line of 2 plots of land and one stage when it reached its climax the younger brother Mantu hit on the heads of Khalilur and his wife Kamala Begum with a sharp knife. As a result, both the husband and wife sustained grievous injuries on their heads. Both of them were sent to Morrelganj Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared Kamala Begum dead. After the incident while killer Mantu Talukdar was fleeing away by a motor cycle he was arrested by the police with the help of the local people of the adjacent Rampal Upazila. Md. Rashedul Alam, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS confirmed the fact. But it could not be known whether any case was registered with the local PS or not in connection with the incident.
