A housewife reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself at Bejpara of the district town on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Lipi Khatun, 30, wife of Liton Gazi of the area.
Family sources said Lipi hanged herself from the ceiling of her room with a rope around 1pm after an altercation with her husband.
Later, family members took her to Jashore 250-bed Hospital where the duty doctor declared her dead, said officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station AKM Azmal Huda.
