Hike of dialysis fee protested by KPKS

Kidney Patients Welfare Sangstha in Chattogram protested the hike of Dialysis charges in Chattogram Medical College Hospital which claims as unjustified and inhuman. The protest was announced at the preparatory meeting of incoming International Kidney Day -2021 scheduled to be held on March 11 next held on Saturday last at Kazem Ali High C ollege confernence hall with Principal of the college Md. Giasuddin . The speakers in the meeting said Kidney disease is a most expensive and deadly disease.
The kidney affected person obviously die and also kills their family members spending all belongings to becoming street beggar. They said a kidney patients would require dialysis two to thrice in a week. To avail the dialysis facilities by the poor and insolvent patients , the fees should be in affordable for all people. The meeting also requested the Prime Minister, Health Min ister and the authority of CMCH to fix nominal fees so as these patients may survfve from kidney complications for the time being.
The speakers also called upon the affluents to come forward for the services of the kidney patients. Among others, President of KPWS Syed Md. Jahedul Hoque, Director of Maa Shishu Hospital Md. Moshraf Hossain , Syed Md. Shahabuddin, general secretary of KPWS Jamaluddin Howlader, Asstt. Md. Arif, Treasurer Md. Hossain, and others were present in the meeting.
The meeting finally decided to celebrates the International Kidney Day on March 11 next at Kazem Ali College premises , KPWS sources said.
