Hearing over 2nd chance in DU test Aug 16

The Supreme Court on Thursday fixed August 16 for hearing on an appeal challenging the High Court order that rejected the writ petition against the decision of the Dhaka University (DU) authorities not to allow students to sit for the university’s admission test for the second time.
A four-member bench of the Appellate Division, headed by Chief Justice SK Sinha, passed the order following an appeal against the HC order by admission seekers.
Advocate Subrato Chowdhury, lawyer of the petitioners, Advocate ASM Mejbah Uddin, lawyer for DU, and attorney general Mahbube Alam were present during yesterday’s hearing.
On July 8, the High Court rejected the writ petition against the decision of the Dhaka University (DU) authorities not to allow students to sit for the university’s admission test for the second time.
As per the order, the students who have passed HSC examinations will not be able to appear at the DU admission tests for the second time.
Later, the petitioners filed an appeal against the High Court the order that rejected the writ petition against the decision of the DU authorities.
