Health, population, nutrition edn package for school children launched

The cover of a comprehensive school health, population and nutrition education package for school students in grade five and above was unveiled at a programme held at CIRDAP Conference Hall in the capital on January 6.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) supported the development of this package through its Ujjiban Social Behaviour Change Communication project.
Barry T Gill, acting Mission Director of USAID Bangladesh, Saiful Hasan Badol, Secretary, Medical Education and Family Welfare Division of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Syed Mojibul Huq, Addl Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Nitish Chandra Sarker, Addl Secretary, Shahan Ara Banu, DGFP, among others, were present at the event.
In the programme, the speakers said over 20,000 field level staff of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) along with different development partners will jointly implement the package at the school level. USAID is also supporting the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to build capacity of field staff to ensure rolling out the package across the country.
