Chandika Hathurusingha’s Sri Lankan team arrived in the capital on Saturday to play against hosts Bangladesh and visiting Zimbabwe in the seven-match Tri-nation series beginning at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on January 15.
Angelo Mathews-led 16-man Sri Lanka cricket team landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:50 am.
The other team of the tri-nation series, Graeme Cremer-led a 15-member Zimbabwe reached the capital earlier on Friday to play thedouble league basis ODI series where each side will face one another twice before the final.
The top two teams of the league will play the final on January 27.
Bangladesh will meet Zimbabwe in the inaugural match on January 15, face Sri Lanka on January 19 and play Zimbabwe again on January 23 before taking on Sri Lanka on January 25.
After the tri-series, Bangladesh will host Sri Lanka for two-match Test series in Chittagong and Dhaka. The first Test will be played from January 31 to February 4 and the second match from February 8 to 12.
Sri Lanka’s tour will end with two T20Is — the first one on February 15 in Dhaka and the second one on February 18 in Sylhet.
