Gulshan market owners get temporary shops

Affected shop owners of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) market in Gulshan-1 on Tuesday got temporary shops there. DNCC Mayor Annisul Huq allotted as many as 291 temporary shops to the owners.
Mayor Annisul Huq visited the temporary shops built on the premises of the market after allotment.
The market was severely damaged in fire on the night of January 2. The kancha market was totally
ruined in the incident while the south portion of the market was partially damaged.
After the incident, DNCC evacuated the kancha market and built temporary shops there and the parking place of the market.
The temporary shops had been built in three blocks with bamboos, plastics and other materials.
The businessmen, who were the shop owners on the ground floor, got temporary shops in the inner section, while the first floors shop owners got allotment in the Car Parking place in the front side of the market.
In the temporary areas, there are 62 shops in A block, 18 in block B and 211 shops in Block C.
There were 188 shops on the ground floor of the damaged market and 103 shops on the first floor.
