It’s been an amazing first week for Good Newwz at the box-office. The film opened to Rs. 17.56 crore at the box office and then went ahead to make Rs. 65.03 crores in its first weekend.
The film continued to do well on weekdays, earning Rs. 13.41 crore on Monday and Rs 16.20 crore on Tuesday. However, the film gained more momentum on January 1, 2020 and made a Rs. 22.50 crore at the box-office. The film had another good day on Thursday by making Rs. 10.80 crores, taking the total to a whopping sum of Rs. 127.90 crores.
With no big releases this week, a trade expert predicted the film to soon hit the Rs. 150 crore mark at the box office. He said, “With no major film this week, it’s advantage for Good Newwz for one more week… Should hit Rs 150 crore in Weekend 2… Target Rs. 200 crore can be achieved *if* it trends well on weekdays, which, in turn, will help programming in Week 3, when Tanhaji, Chhapaak and Darbar arrive.”
