Grand Master (GM) Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited became 15th in the 16th Dubai Open Chess Championship, which is the biggest chess event of Asia. The chess Tournament was held at Dubai in United Arab Emirates.
Zia earned six points out of nine games. The 9th or last round game was held on last Tuesday and Zia beat CRG Krishna of India.
Zia increased seven rating from this event.
GM Eduardo Romain of France became unbeaten champion with 8 points.
A total of 148 players from 39 countries including 38 Grand Masters, 8 Women Grand Masters and 16 International Masters participated in the event.
