BSS, Dhaka :
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Sunday said young generation should be provided with world standard education to turn them into architects of modern Bangladesh.
“We have to provide global standard education to fulfill the demand of current age aiming to build a prosperous country,” he told the third convocation of University of Liberal Arts (ULAB), a private university, at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) here.
Vice Chancellor of ULAB Prof Imran Rahman, vice president of board of trustee Dr Kazi Anis and eminent writer Syed Shamsul Haque, among others, addressed the convocation.
Nahid said new generation must be prepared with modern education alongside developing high moral values and sense of patriotism to build an economically prosperous Bangladesh.
It must create an environment to nurture students to develop their full potentials and capacities as human beings in diverse areas of knowledge, which will help students to fit in any situation in their life, he said. Both public and private institutions must pay highest attention to teach science education at lower and higher levels in such a manner so that science can be used for solving the problems of life and ensuring national development, Nahid said.
The education sector has witnessed a remarkable progress in the past of couple of years, thanks to effective and time-befitting initiatives of present government, he said, adding “We are sincerely working to bring a qualitative change in the education sector.”
