Leaking ICT verdict: SQC’s wife, son, 5 others indicted

 A Dhaka court on Monday framed charge against seven persons including executed war crimes convict BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury’s wife, Farhat Quader Chowdhury and their son Hummam Quader Chowdhury in a case filed for leaking the draft verdict in Salauddin Quader Chowdhury’s war crime case.
Dhaka’s Cyber Crime Tribunal Judge KM Shamsul Alam framed the charges against the seven accused on Monday. The court fixed March 28 for hearing in the case.
Other five accused persons are: Salauddin Quader Chowdhury’s lawyer Barrister AKM Fakhrul Islam, Fakhrul’s associate Advocate Mehedi Hasan, Hummam’s manager Mahbubul Afsan and two staff of the International Crimes Tribunal-1, Nayan Ali and Faruq Hossain. DB Inspector Md Shahjahan, also the Investigation Officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the court on August 28 last year accusing the seven of stealing information from the tribunal chairman’s computer before the verdict was pronounced on October 1, 2013.
On October 4, last year, the case was filed Shahbagh Police Station Under Sections 57 and 63 of the Information Technology Act. Later, the Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Barrister Fakhrul Islam from his chamber at Segunbagicha in the capital on November 20 of that year. The apex court allowed him bail recently.
