Global Economist Forum wins UN General Consultative Membership

International think-tank Global Economist Forum (GEF) has got permanent ‘General Consultative Membership’ of the United Nations under its Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), says a press release.
GEF is one of the four organisations, which got the rare UN recognition over the world, awarded on August 01 at UN headquarters, New York. It is the highest category of recognition for any development organisation after sovereign states.
The extra-ordinary accreditation has been achieved by dint of the outstanding performance of GEF’s central President Dr. Enayet Karim with the cooperation of Dr. Mohammed Haider Ali Miah and Dr. Mamun-Ur-Rashid, President and General Secretary respectively of Bangladesh chapter of GEF.
After having the ‘General Consultative Membership’-the Global Economist Forum will work as subsidiary development body of United Nations among the member states.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Enayet Karim is a Bangladeshi and first Asian, who has been elected President of GEF for three consecutive terms. He is editor of Daily Industry. While the Bangladesh Chapter President Dr. Mohammed Haider Ali Miah is a renowned Islamic banker and Managing Director of Exim Bank Limited. His running met General Secretary Dr. Mamun-Ur-Rashid is the Managing Director of Standard Bank Limited.
