Gayeshwar wonders how cop could claim themselves kings!

BNP senior leader Gayeshwar Chandra Roy on Saturday wanted to know where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s position is as police are claiming themselves as the ‘kings’ of the country.
“Police gave a city corporation inspector tremendous thrashing and said ‘hilsa is the king of fishes while police are the kings of the state. I would like to urge Sheikh Hasina to quit. Where’s your position when police are claiming themselves to be the kings?”
Speaking at a meeting of Dhaka City unit BNP’s convening committee at
Nayapaltan’s Bhasani Auditorium, the BNP leader also warned that not only people await sufferings but also the Prime Minister when ‘police become the kings’.
Referring to another recent assault on Bangladesh Bank official Golam Rabbi by police in Mohammadpur area, he said the country’s people are now living in a dangerous situation.
Police reportedly assaulted and beat Dhaka South City Corporation inspector Bikash Chandra Saha in the city’s Jatrabari area on Friday while sub-inspector of police Masud Shikder allegedly tortured Golam Rabbi a few days back.
Under the circumstances, Gayeshwar, a BNP standing committee member, urged his party colleagues to get united putting aside divisions and misunderstanding among them to save the country. He also warned them that they will have to face huge ordeal in the days to come if they do not come out their hideouts now fearing repressive acts.
The BNP leader said they will hold a discussion at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh on January 20 demanding the release of their arrested leaders and activists, including party standing committee members MK Anwar and Mirza Abbas.
