Rapid Action Battalion forces detained a oil tanker with 9000 liters Furnace Oil from Sulakbahar area under Panchalaish Thana in the Port City yesterday afternoon .
RAB forces rounded up two persons allegedly involved with the furnace oil scandal.
These furnace oil were imported in a smuggled way by evading govt duty. Asstt. Police super of RAB-7 Kazi Md. Tarek Aziz told media that the oil tanker with 9000 liters furnace oil detained from the estuary of Sulakbahar flyover at early 2 pm today. The detained identified as Rizwanul Islam(35) and Md. Rahman(34) .
Both the detained involved with the smuggling furnace oil consignment , RAB said. Chandgaon camp Commander Major Md. Shamim sarker told that the imported furnace oil through evading govt tax in a smuggled way detained and 2 allegedly involved were detained. RAB Commander told that the smuggled furnace oil tanker loading from Karnaphuli area was proceeding to Sitakunda industrial area aimed at selling there .
The detained confessed their involvement with the trafficking of furnace oil through smuggled way since long.
