BD U-23 football team lose to Vietnam U-23 in practice match

Bangladesh Under-23 Football team conceded a 2-4 defeat against Vietnam Under-23 team in a practice match at Munhak Football Field Auxiliary Pitch, South Korea on Wednesday.
Midfielder Sohel Rana scored first for Bangladesh in 70th minute of the match while striker Taklis Ahmed scored the other goal in 75th minute to reduce the margin. Vietnam teams dominated the first half by 2-0.
“My players played well, but unfortunately conceded the defeat,” Bangladesh football team head coach Lodewijk Darius de Kruif said after the match.
Bangladesh football reached Korea on Monday to participate in the 17th Asian Games to be held in Incheon from September 19 to October 4.
Although the Asian Games will ceremonially open on September 19, the football competition will start on September 14.
Bangladesh team will start their Asian Games football campaign taking on their South Asian rival Afghanistan on September 15.
The team will play Uzbekistan on September 18 and Hong Kong on September 22.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh contingent in the Asian Games comprises of 126 athletes who will compete in 13 disciplines of sports — archery, football, cricket, hockey, kabaddi, fencing, golf, gymnastics, karate, shooting, taekwondo, beach volleyball and wushu — in the biggest sports carnival of Asia.
In the last Asian Games in Guangzhou, China in 2010, Bangladesh won gold the medal in men’s cricket, silver medal in women’s cricket and bronze medal in women’s kabaddi.
