Four passengers were killed and 14 others injured when a passenger bus overturned in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensigh district on Monday. Three of the four deceased have been identified as Saju Mia (30), son of Khokon Mia, Natok Ghor Lane, Mymensingh town, Rayhan Mia (25) and Intaj Ali (45). But one dead could not be identified instantly. Of the injured, Khokon Mia (55),Mamun (30) and Sharmin (12) have been identified.
Ali Ahmad Molla, Tarakanda Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) said, ‘A Dhaka-bound passenger bus overturned and plunged into a roadside ditch after its driver lost
control over the steering at about 11:00am, leaving one dead on the spot and injured others.’
Of the injured, two died on way to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) and eight others were admitted, said MMCH Emergency Department Doctor Shamsur Rahman.
The bus driver managed to flee the scene though the bus was sized, added the OC.
