Four held with 8 lakh Yaba tablets in Cox’s Bazar

Elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered eight lakh pieces of yaba tablets and arrested a total of four alleged smugglers who are Myanmar citizens came by fishing boat on Bay of Bengal.
Commanding Officer (CO) of RAB-7 Lt Colonel Miftah Uddin said acting on secret information, a team of RAB recovered 8 lakh pieces of yaba tablets and arrested four alleged smugglers who are Myanmar citizens.
He said the Myanmar citizens are using the engines of buses or trucks at the wooden boat for increasing speed. As a result, the Myanmar citizen can come to Bangladesh territory easily and returned back within short time after delivering the drugs to the smugglers.It may be mentioned that smuggling of contraband yaba tablets, a drug containing morphine and amphetamine is rampant in Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar area now.
The law enforcing agencies including (RAB), police and Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) are taking steps to stop the smuggling. The law enforcers are continuing the special raids to nab the smugglers regularly in Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar
