A son of a retired superintendent of police reportedly committed suicide at his residence in city’s Kakrail area on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rakibul Hasan Ripon, 35, son of MA Rafiq.
Victim’s brother Mohammad Liton said that his brother hanged himself with the ceiling fan in his room.
Being rescued, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead, said Sub-Inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of the hospital police camp.
