Former Justice Syed Amirul Islam dies

Justice Syed Amirul Islam, a former judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court died under treatment in a city hospital around 11:45 am on Wednesday. He was 86.
Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique condoled the death of Amirul Islam.
In a condolence message, the Chief Justice prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Spokesperson of the Supreme Court and also Registrar of the Appellate
 Division Mohammad Saifur Rahman issued a press note saying that, the namaz-e-janaza of the deceased will be held on the inner garden premises of the Supreme Court after Zohr prayer on Thursday.
Syed Amirul Isalm was born on January 13 in 1940 in Cumilla. He was enrolled as an Advocate of the Dhaka High Court in September 1965. He took oath as an additional judge of the High Court Division on February 10 in 1994 and became permanent judge of the same Division in 1996.
He went on retirement on January 13 in 2007. Later Amirul Islam was appointed the state counsel to the war crimes tribunal of the Appellate Division by the government on 13 March, 2013.
