Five more killed in road crashes

At least five more persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Sunday.
In Rajshahi, an old man died in a road mishap at Puthia upazila of Rajshahi district.
The incident took place on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway at around 9 pm on Saturday night.
Local sources said that a bus rammed him when he was crossing the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway.
Law- enforcement recovered the body from the spot.
The deceased was identified as Ahmad Ali, 60, son of late Harun from village Laxmipur in Charghat upazila of Rajshahi.
Sakil Uddin Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Puthia Police Station, confirmed the news.
In Manikganj, a motorcyclist named Abul Kalam, 40, was killed in a road accident at Paturia Ferry ghat in Manikganj.
Two riders of the motorcycle were critically injured in this incident.
The accident occurred on Sunday morning at Ferry ghat in Shibalaya Upazila.

The deceased was the son of Sheikh Mohammad Bepari from Kaladulatia area of Rajbari district.
Brongail Highway Police Outpost Sub-Inspector Amir Hossain confirmed the report to the media.
In Brahmanbaria, a man named Faruk Mia, 30, was killed in a road clash when a truck struck the pickup van in Brahmanbaria district.
The accident occurred on the Comilla-Sylhet Highway in Sultanpur area of Sadar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Faruk, son of Sabul Ahmed from Patenga, Chittagong district.
Hossain Sarker, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Shotihata Biswa Road, Highway Police said.
 In Sirajganj, A motorcyclist, 35, was killed when a bus hit him at Raiganj in Sirajganj district.
Another man was injured in the accident.
The identity of the casualties could not be known instantly. The accident took place at 3pm on the Dhaka-Bogra Highway on Sunday.
Officer-in-Charge of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station Abdul Kader Jilani confirmed it to media.
In Patuakhali, a schoolgirl named Sumaiyya Akhter Ria, 13, was killed in a road accident in Galachipa upazila of the district.
The accident occurred on Saturday night at Ratnodi underTaltoli Union of Galachipa upazila.
Ria Mamun Tatti was the daughter of Tota Mia and Ninth-grade student of Ratdani Taltoli Secondary High school.
Galachipa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zahid Hossain confirmed the matter to media.
