Five killed in road crashes

At least five more persons were killed and several others critically injured in two districts on Wednesday.
Among the deceased, three died in Sylhet, and another two in Dhaka city.
In Sylhet, two persons were killed when a truck collided face-to-face with a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet around 11am on Wednesday.
Three others were critically injured.The accident took place in front of Hetimganj Mollachok Primary school.
Mahbubul Huq, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) confirmed the news of deaths. The deceased were Soruj Ali and his brother Turmoj Ali of the same area.
Meanwhile, locals protested blocking roads by burning tires on the streets. One of them was an auto-rickshaw passenger.
One died on the spot and the other was declared dead in the MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
AKM Fazlul, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Golapganj Police Station confirmed the news.
Being infuriated, people set the truck on fire that led to traffic suspension for an hour. Police brought the situation under control afterwards.
A teenage boy was killed in Fenchuganj in a road accident.
His name is Rezaul Haque, 17.
In Dhaka, two more persons were killed in separate accidents in city on Wednesday (August 8).
Salim Akhondo, a bike sharer was killed near the Manda Bridge in the green model city when a private car rammed the bike on Wednesday in the capital city.
Locals detained the private car on the spot.
The dead body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
An unidentified man was killed in a road accident at Matuail Jatrabari in the capital.
