Double murder victims in Jessore identified Jessore Correspondent Two persons who were killed in a field at Beharapara under Nawapara industrial town early Thursday were identified as Ripon Band, 35, a businessman at Daulatpur, Khulna and also son of Late Khabir Band of Deyana and Amrita Gharami, a motor mechanic and also son of Jagadish Gharami of Pabla in Khulna district. The police on Thursday morning recovered the bodies from a lonely field at Dhopadi Beharapara under Abhaynagar upazila. They were hacked and tortured to death, said Sairuddin Ahmed, officer in charge, Abhaynagar police station. The officer in-charge told New Nation that being informed by the locals Abhaynagar police recovered the bodies from a lonely field at around 11am.’ The bodies wore marks of tortures,’ he added. He told on Friday that the victims were identified but reason of the killing could not be known immediately. No case was filed and none was arrested. Nazrul Islam Mallik, a local journalist told that a pool of blood was seen on the spot. They could be abducted from a far area and were killed on the spot. Sources at the area said the two were killed over drug addiction. They two used to come to the spot for having drugs at night. The drug dealers killed them after mugging a good amount of money and snatching a motorbike.
