A fire broke out in a cosmetics factory in the city’s Dalpatti area of Chakbazar on Monday afternoon, Fire Service sources said. Quoting the locals, Lalbagh Fire Service Station’s Senior Station Officer Kazi Nozumuzzaman said that the fire broke out in the tin-shed factory situated on the rooftop of a three-storey building around 4:15 pm. Five fire fighting units went to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 4:50pm and the flame was doused at about 5:15 pm. We came to know that an electrical glitch caused the fire, the official further said. Chakbazar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azizul Islam said that five fire-fighting units doused the flames in an hour’s frantic effort. He said that the amount of the loss in the fire of the factory could not be known immediately.
