A court here on Tuesday sentenced a man and his three associates to death for killing his wife in 2008.
The convicts are-Abu Ayub Lalan, Hanif, Mallika and Rana of Chapulia village in the city. The court also fined them Tk 5,000 each.
According to the prosecution, Abu Ayub along with his three associates stabbed his wife Morsheda, a mother of two children, to death following altercation over his extra-marital affairs on November 5, 2008.
Shawkat Ali, uncle of the deceased, filed a case against four people in this connection with Joydevpur Police Station.
Police arrested all the accused of the case.
After examining the records and witnesses, Additional District and Session Judge Court-1 Fazle Elahi Bhuiyan handed down the verdict.
