Film Unity Alliance withdraws movement, work abstention

After getting assurance from the Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu leaders of Bangladesh Film Unity Alliance (Chalachchitra Oikya Jote) announced the withdrawal of their work abstention and movement against to screen Hindi and Urdu movies in the country’s cinema halls.
Their announcement came from a press conference held at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity yesterday where Secretary General of Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar read out a written statement in this regard. Vice President of Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association Sohanur Rahman Sohan, President of Bangladesh Actors Association Shakib Khan, its General Secretary Misha Sawdagar, hero Zayed Khan, among others, were present at the conference.
In the conference, Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar said, “The movie which is being screened without taking any permission from the court. Our movement is against film importers, not against distributors.”
“We have talked with the Press Advisor to the Prime Minister Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury and the Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu. They assured us to take the necessary steps in this regard. For this reason, we have withdrawn our movement,” Gulzar said.
