A freedom fighter killed and two others injured in motorcycle accident at Rampatti under Babuganj upazila of the district on Barishal-Dhaka highway Monday night.
Zahid Bin Alam, officer in charge of Barishal Airport police station, acknowledging the fact said the dead freedom fighter was identified as Somed Ali Sardar, 70, of Babuganj upazila and one of the injured victims was identified as Muhammad Rafi, 26, and other injured one remained unidentified till this report.
The dead and injured victims sent to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital, the police official told.
Sub Inspector Nazmul Hossain, in charge of Barishal SBMCH police camp, said body of the dead victim sent to morgue for autopsy and the injured two motorcyclists admitted at the hospital in critical condition.
Police quoting witnesses said when freedom fighter Somed Ali crossing the highway, the speedy motorcycle crushing him plunged to roadside slope at about 7:00 PM Monday.
Somed Ali died at the spot and injured two rescued and all of them sent to SBMCH immediately by the locals, sources added.
