Legendary singer of the Subcontinent Ferdausi Rahman is not seen to perform frequently now. After a break of five years, she rendered songs in a programme titled Priyo Shilpi Priyo Gaan on BTV. Produced by Mahbuba Ferdous recording of Ferdausi Rahman’s episode was done on May 6. Popular singer Dinat Jahan Munni is hosting the show regularly.
It is being aired every second and fourth Sunday after News at 10 on BTV. She rendered some of her popular songs in the programme.
While talking in this regard Ferdausi Rahman told this correspondent, “I did not render song for many days. After five years I have rendered songs for BTV. From the BTV authority they told me if I would render songs it’s achieve value will be enriched. So I have agreed to perform cordially. Viewers will give their judgments after telecasting the episode. I believe BTV will take initiative to preserve songs of yesteryears for the new generation.”
